SMP Press Contest

I currently have three pieces entered in the annual composition contest with SMP Press. Eligible pieces will be judged by editors from the Lorenz Corporation, and the winner receives a cash prize. For a piece to qualify, it has to sell a certain number of copies. More information about each of my pieces is included below. Click the title to download the sheet music.

When I Can Read My Title Clear - SATB Choir and 4-Hand Piano
I know choral singing has significantly diminished during the pandemic, but this spirited arrangement of the traditional American melody PISGAH is an exciting way for your choir and two pianists to return!

Psalm 51 - Intermediate Organ Solo
I composed this piece for the Ash Wednesday service at First Baptist Church, Greenville, SC in 2018. It is a prayerful and contemplative reflection on Psalm 51 that is perfect for the Lenten season and useful for general worship or recital throughout the year.

We’ve a Story to Tell to the Nations - Early Advanced Piano Solo
This is an upbeat arrangement for piano solo of the hymn tune MESSAGE that opens with a light Baroque-like intro and first stanza followed by a slower, more expressive middle stanza. It then returns to the opening style to finish the piece.
