O Sacred Head, Now Wounded

For Oboe and Piano

Love Notes, Inc., 2019

This tune known as PASSION CHORALE has been used with the text "O Sacred Head, Now Wounded" for centuries to reflect on the events of Holy Week. In this arrangement, I quote an original organ piece composed for a Good Friday service in which the repeated note in the melody is meant to evoke the hammering of the nails holding Christ to the cross (Shadow of Darkness and Death).

While originally arranged for oboe and piano, this piece has also been performed with violin and can be adapted for any C instrument.
